Electronica: Isolated current sense IC has on-board power path

The NSM211x series is fast, with a 1MHz -3dB bandwidth and 400ns response time.
It comes in three packaging options: SOP8, SOW16 and SOW10.
Only the SOW 10 package has the 5kV rating, as well as 1,618V peak working voltage, 8.2mm creepage and surge ratings of 10kV and 20kA. The other two packages have lesser specifications.
Respectively, the packages have a primary side resistance of 1.2mΩ, 0.85mΩ/1mΩ* or 0.27mΩ – the latter can handle 100A continuously, the others less. Dc or ac currents between 5 and 200A can be measured by at least one of these.
Operation is across -40 to 150°C and there are versions to support operation from 3.3 or 5V.
“Internal temperature compensation algorithms and off-line calibration to enable better than ±2% sensitivity error and better than ±10 mV offset error) across the full temperature range, with no need for secondary programming,” according to the company.
Options include a ratiometric output or absolute output, reference voltage output, over-current protection output and configurable over-current protection thresholds.
Applications are foreseen in on-board chargers, dc-dc converters and motor-drivers.
